Sunday Call Script
Good Evening Heaton Families.
This is Jayme Cardinal-Principal at Heaton. I am calling with announcements for the week May 8 through May 12th.
Our overall average for attendance was 90.3%. Our 6th grade averaged 89% for the week, 7th grade was at 92%, while the 8th grade was at 90%.
Midterm report cards were sent home with your student on Friday. Please ask your child to see their midterm report card. If you have any questions about your child’s grades, please contact your child’s teachers or you can also contact us in the school office.
This month we are challenging students to “Be Positive” as we head into the end of the school year. Spirit Week this past week was the kickoff for this. I wanted to send a thank you out to our students and parents who ensure their child comes to school each day focused on their academics and ensure students follow the Code of Conduct. We appreciate your help and student’s cooperation to make our school operates orderly and without disruptions. Our expectation and policies are in place to minimize distraction to the learning environment. While we are close to this school year coming to a close, we still have 4 ½ more weeks of school. Our expectations will not change as we continue to the end of the school year. This includes our policies with phones, dress code, the fidget toys and other behaviors.
Congratulations to our JV and Varsity Girls and Boys tracks teams. They are ALL City Champions!!!! The qualifying runners will compete this Tuesday, May 9th at Dutch Clark in the City/County Championship Meet beginning at 4:30PM. Good luck!!
Congratulations also goes out to our Marching Band, Intermediate, Advanced and Jazz bands for their performances this week and weekend at Apple Blossom. The Marching Band took 3rd! Congratulations!!!
Good luck to our Soccer teams. They have competition all this week as well as this weekend.
8th Grade Parents: The Continuum invitations went out this past week to your child. Please ask your child to see the invitation. We encourage all students to participate in the evening’s events. Students will RSVP with either Ms. Reeves or Ms. Hoffman, our Student Council Representatives. As a reminder, the dinner and dance portion of the evening are for students only.
If you have any questions about any of these announcements, please feel free to contact the school.
