First, we still have approximately 160 families that have not turned in the Lunch forms. A specific call will go out these families as well as visits by our community advocate.   As I have said in the past, we desperately need those to be filled out and turned in.  It is critical that we get these back.  This information determines our title 1 status, which is in jeopardy.  We must meet a 70% free lunch marker for our school or the loss of funds will impact your child because we will lose staff.     I again am imploring parents to get these forms turned back in.   We will be sending these forms home with the 160 students we don't have form for this week.  Please Please return these.

This week in our AVID Success Advisory Period, students will begin checking their Grade point Averages, missing work and create goals to help improve their grades.  Your child will be bringing this form home for you to sign.  Beginning next week, we will be sending home a call if your child is missing work.  Students must be accountable for their work. It is not an option to sit idly by in class.  We expect students to interact and turn in work.

I would like thank those parents who have worked with us regarding the traffic in the afternoon.  We appreciate the parents who have determined a designated meeting point with your child and are parking on the surrounding streets.  I am working with the Streets department with the City of Pueblo and our Pueblo Police Officer in regards to the problems that are occurring on Adair. We again are asking parents not to stop in the street and allow your child to run to get in the car.  This is a safety issue.  Parents, please be vigilant as you pick up your child.   I know that everyone wants to pick up their child quickly and head out, however, your patience is greatly appreciated as students leave school each day.

Students who ride our two main busses, have a new schedule.  Please see the district website for the bus schedules. Click on the yellow bus icon on the main page for the routes.  The new schedule has students being picked up and dropped off a little earlier than they have been since school began.

Clearing for Boys basketball is coming up.  We will clear for boys basketball on Oct. 6, 7 and 8.  Tryouts begin on October 12.  Forms are in the office and if you have questions, please contact MR. Crowell, out AD.

The 6th grade fundraiser begins this week and ends October 4th.  They raise money for a field trip in the spring.

Finally, good luck to our sports teams this week!
