Weekly Call Script: August 14 to 18

Good Evening Heaton Families,

This is Jayme Cardinal, Principal at Heaton calling with announcements for the week of August 14 through August 18.

  1. As a reminder, I send out the weekly announcements every Sunday at 5PM.   The script for the call will also be posted on our Webpage, Remind, the Heaton App, and our Facebook page.   We want to make sure you have access to information pertinent to the week’s events.   Please see our newsletter posted on our web page to get details about joining those pages or getting the app.    You can find the newsletter at heaton.pueblocityschools.us

  2. Clearing for fall sports begin this week.  Clearing will take place from 9AM to 3PM.  Please adhere to those time.  Clearing requires a current physical, parent/student agreement form, emergency card and $45 fee.   Please clear with Ms. Vickie, the building secretary in the back office at Heaton.   Contact Mr. Crowell, our athletic director with any questions. You can find specific information about all our fall sports, camps and tryout information posted on our FB page, Heaton Middle School.    

  3. 6th grade students ONLY will report to school on Tuesday, August 22 for the 6th grade Transition Day.  This will be a regular school day for 6th graders and busses will run.    No 7th or 8th grade should be at school this day.    ALL students will then report to school on Wednesday, August 23.   Please note that we let students into the building at 7:40AM.  Students are expected to be in the correct uniform from day one.

  4. If you need assistance with uniforms, our community advocate Jean Daniel will be meeting with parents this week.  She will be available starting this Tuesday.   Please call the office to set an appointment.   549-7422.

  5. Students will need to purchase a planner and a tie for the school year.  Ties are currently available and are $6.   Planners are $5 but have not arrived yet.   We will send out alerts when they become available.   We are hopeful they arrive this week.   Tie and planners can be bought in the office with Ms. Janet or with Ms. Vickie.

  6. I would like to welcome Pueblo Police Officer Carl Pagels to the Heaton staff as our new SRO.   He will officially be joining us this week.   

  7. Finally, after the call goes out tonight we will also be sending out some memo reminders about attendance, safety and NO Bully, our new Bully program.   Please review these memos and contact us if you have any questions.   549-7420.
