Good Evening Heaton Families

This is Jayme Cardinal, Principal at Heaton calling with announcements for the week of November 27 through December 1

  1. I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving Break and were able to spend time with family and friends.

  2. I wanted to thank all the students, jazz band members, student council members, and teachers who came out and participated in the Parade of Lights with us on Saturday.  It was a success! The jazz band was awesome and the parade was a lot of fun.   I also wanted to thank Heaton parent Bob Finely and his family for the use of his trailers and time to help us be in the parade. Parents thank you for bringing your child to the parade and allowing them to join in the fun.

  3. Please ensure your child comes to school with their needed materials.   As the school year goes along, we still need students to have items like tape, glue, and pencils.   As reminder, our school store is open every Tuesday and Thursday which sells items like these to help students replenish their supplies. The store is open from 7:40 to 8:25.

  4. 8th Grade Parents:  On Thursday from 8:45-9:15, I will be holding an informational meeting with all 8th graders about changes in the High School graduation requirements our district has adopted.   I would like to invite any parents interested in listening to the presentation to join us.   The presentation will be in our auditorium from 8:45 to 9:15.   Also, ALL 8th graders will be going out on Discovery Day on Friday, December 1st  to the both East High School and Centennial High School.    This year all 8th graders will attend the trip so they can learn about what each high school has to offer.

  5. This week begins the “Twelve Days of Christmas” prize give away for students.   Students who meet the HAWKS expectations (Attendance, Behaviors, and Grades) will be entered into drawings for prizes.   Students should listen to the daily announcements for more details.

  6. The Guadalupe Rodriquez Care and Share Food Pantry will be open this Friday from 1PM to 2:15PM.   Please take advantage of this opportunity as it is for any Heaton family.

  7. Good luck to both our NAL team and our Boys Basketball teams this week.  You can find their games and matches listed on our google calendar on our website.  Heaton.pueblocityschools.us
