This is Jayme Cardinal-Principal at Heaton. I am calling with announcements for the week January 30th through February 3rd.
Our overall average for attendance for this past week was 90% Our 6th grade averaged 91.9% for the week, 7th grade was at 91.5%, while the 8th grade dropped to at 87.88%.
Our SEMESTER awards assemblies are this week. We will be rewarding students for achieving 4.0, Honor Roll and Perfect Attendance based on their overall Semester performance. Assemblies are:
6th Grade: January 31st from 8:45 to 9:15
7th Grade: February 1st from 8:45 to 9:15
8th Grade: February 2nd from 8:45 to 9:15
As I mentioned in last week’s call, missing work has been a concern. As an AVID school, our focus of being college and career ready sets the expectation of completing work in a timely manner and turning it in for credit. As a reminder, this quarter, we will not be accepting work two weeks beyond the due date unless other arrangements are made between parents/students and the teacher. The amount of credit for the late work will be determined by each teacher as it has been in the past. Please contact us if you are needing additional help or support to help your child succeed.
8th Grade Parents-Centennial is hosting their 8th Grade Parent Night on Wednesday, February 1st beginning at 6PM at Centennial.
Please check out the Heaton Calendar on the either the Heaton Web page or from the Heaton App. We have quite of few dates that are important coming up including parent teacher conferences, the High School 8th grade parent night, sports dates, and days off from school. The App is also a very easy way to call or email teachers if you have questions about your child’s grades or missing work.
Good luck to our Wrestling, Girls BBall teams, and NALs team this week! Wrestling hosts CCA at home on Wednesday and will participate in the South Invitational on Friday. Good luck to all our teams. Girls Basketball goes up against PV on Monday at PV and NAL competes against Roncalli on Tuesday at Central.
If you have any questions about any of these announcements, please feel free to contact the school.
