Good Evening Heaton Families.
This is Jayme Cardinal-Principal at Heaton. I am calling with announcements for the week February 13th through February 17th. .
Our overall average for attendance for this past week was 90.4% Our 6th grade averaged 89.2% for the week, 7th grade was at 91.8%, while the 8th grade was at 89.5%.
We have several days of no school coming up. There is no school this FRIDAY, February 17 due to District Professional Development. There is also No School Monday, February 20 due to the President’s Day Holiday and there is no school on Tuesday, February 21 due to our Parent Teacher Conference. PTCs are from 10-30 to 6PM. Teachers will break from 2-2:30 for lunch. These will be the final conferences for the school year.
This week February 13 through the 17th is National Random Act of Kindness Week (RAK2017). At Heaton, we believe that we should treat others with respect. Treating each other with KINDNESS is the rule. We will be doing little acts of kindness this week for students. We ask that students do the same for each other. Something as simple as a smile is an easy way to show kindness. “Be the reason someone smiles today.”
In conjunction with RAK week, our student council is sponsoring Pennies for Patients. The money raised will go the Lymphoma/Leukemia Foundation. Pennies will be collected in ASAP classes and the winning class will have a lunch provided by Olive Garden. The collection will be from Monday, February 13 through February 24th.
Thursday evening we are hosting our Middle School Enrollment Fair for incoming 5th graders. Many of our students will be helping on this night to showcase our school for incoming students. Parents thank you for allowing students to help.
Good luck to our Wrestling, Girls BBall teams, and NALs team this week! Wrestling goes up against La Junta and Roncalli at Roncalli on Tuesday. Girls basketball plays Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. They play away all week. Girls will be dismissed at 3:30 on Monday and Wednesday to travel to PW. NAL competes in the tournament on Tuesday against John Neumann on Central at 4:30PM. Good luck to all.
