Sunday Call Script

Good Evening Heaton Families.

This is Jayme Cardinal-Principal at Heaton.  I am calling with announcements for the week April 3 through April 7

  1. There is no school Monday, April 3.  It is a teacher work day.   The 3rd quarter ended on Friday.   We will be sending home report cards on Tuesday.  Please ask your child to see their report card.   If you have access to the Infinite Campus Parent Portal, you will be able to see your child’s grades official grades for 3rd quarter as of Tuesday morning.

  2. Our overall average for attendance this past week was 90.9%   Our 6th grade averaged 91.7% for the week, 7th grade was at 92.7%, while the 8th grade was at 88.1%.   Attendance will be crucial during our PARCC testing Window.  The PARCC/CMAS window will be April 4 through April 14.

  3. Thank you to the students who helped make our Kindness Campaign successful during the month of March.   Our Kindness Crew is currently planning some activities for the month of April.  We will keep you updated when we begin these new activities.

  4. Our Decades Week was super successful.   The students and teachers did a fabulous job showing their school spirit.   50s day and 80s day were the most successful days.   Nice job to all our students.

  5. PARCC testing begins Tuesday, April 4th.   We will be testing all students on Math this week.   As a reminder to both parents and students, students CANNOT have their phones on them during the testing time.  This is a STATE mandate and any student who violates this places themselves, their class, and the school in jeopardy of a misadministration.   Thank you in advance for your help and understanding.   Students will always have access to a phone in the school office during their testing time.   We take the testing very serious.  The scores students receive determine our overall rating by the state.  Both our students and staff have work very hard this year.   We are excited to see their progress and growth so far this school year.

  6. Good luck to our boys and girls track team.  They have their first track meet this Wednesday at Dutch Clark Stadium at 4:30PM.

  7. If you have any questions about any of these announcements, please feel free to contact the school.

Thank you
