1.        Mid Term Report Cards went home on Friday with your student.  Please ask them to see it.  If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher or the school office.  The 1st quarter ends on October 28th.

2.      Monday is Picture Day and October Count Day.   We need all students at school on Monday!  Picture forms were sent home last week.   Every student will take their picture even if you don’t plan to buy pictures.   We do this to ensure everyone is in the yearbook.

3.      Wednesday is National Walk to School Day.   We sent flyers home on Fridayabout this as well.   There are three dedicated spots where students can meet staff to walk to school.   Please see our website or FB for all the details.   If students walk, they will be entered into a drawing for lots of different prizes.

4.       We have a very busy week at Heaton this week.   October is National Bullying Month and we are having a School Spirit Week in support of this.  Each day students can participate!

Monday:  Crazy Sock Day (Also Picture Day)

Tuesday:  Stomp out Bullying—Wear Socks, Crocs, Flops, Flips or Boots

Wednesday: Crazy Tie Day

Thursday:  College Day:  Wear favorite College Jersey, Shirts, etc.

Friday:   White Out for Peace:  Wear a plain white T shirt for peace and end to bullying

5.       Please download the Heaton Middle School App to see all the dates and times for sport activities this week.  We have quite a few.   I would like send out a shout out of our Soccer teams this week.   They played on Saturday.   The Stars and Stripes team won and the Americans and Nationals all had losses.   Good luck to all our teams this week, especially our softball teams as they enter their final week of play as part of the Softball Tournament.  If students attend the volleyball game we are hosting at Heaton tomorrow, we are doing a Pink Out. Any one who wears pink gets in for free.   Any money collected at the gate will be donated to the American Cancer Society.  The game begins at 4:30PM.
