Classes Cancelled- April 27, 2018
Dear parents, We are aware of a large number of Heaton Middle School teachers who are planning to join their colleagues from across the state to rally at the capital to call for increased education funding on Friday, April 27, 2018. All classes at Heaton will be canceled due to a large number of teachers utilizing excused leave to participate in the “Day of Action.” We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may cause your family. We anticipate that school will resume our normal schedule on Monday. If this status changes, we will notify you as soon as possible. Thank you for your continued support.

Heaton Middle SchoolHeaton Middle School Traffic SafetyIn order to create a safe environment for our students as they enter and exit the building, this year the access loop in front of the building will only be assessable to buses. We encourage parents to use the drop off loop on the north east side of the building to drop students off. This is the loop that sits on the corner where Montebello and Calhoun cross. In the afternoon, we also would encourage parents to park up and down Montebello, Calhoun and Caledonia and arrange a designated point to meet your child. Adair, the main street in front of Heaton, can be very congested and trying to park along there can cause additional congestion. Also, this year in the afternoon, at the Corner of Adair and Calhoun, it will be a right turn only option when turning from Adair on to Calhoun. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with these new changes which are being done to keep all students safe and help traffic to flow. | Dress for Success WednesdaysDuring the 2017-18 school year, students will be required to Dress for Success on Wednesdays – ties required. A white or black button down with maroon tie will be required. Students in the AVID Elective will be required to were a specified maroon and gray tie. Ties will be on sale in the school office starting August 10th. All ties will be $6. Students who were in band last year can wear the same tie they currently own. Please contact the school office for questions.
