  • Weekly Announcements Script- February 27 to March 3 Good Evening Heaton Families.  This is Jayme Cardinal-Principal at Heaton.  I am calling with announcements for the week February 27 through March 3rd.   Our overall average for attendance for this past week was 90.4%   Our 6th grade averaged 91.4% for the week, 7th grade was at 92.02%, while the 8th grade was at 87.3%.   As I said before, the numbers for 8th grade are concerning.  Again, the connection between attendance, grades and eventually graduation from High School are all linked.  To give you an idea of actual number, this week alone, each day, 30 students missed school each day in 8th grade.  Mid Terms will be sent home with students ...

Traffic Safety

In order to create a safe environment for our students as they enter and exit the building, this year the access loop in front of the building will only be assessable to buses. We encourage parents to use the drop off loop on the north east side of the building to drop students off. This is the loop that sits on the corner where Montebello and Calhoun cross. In the afternoon, we also would encourage parents to park up and down Montebello, Calhoun and Caledonia and arrange a designated point to meet your child. Adair, the main street in front of Heaton, can be very congested and trying to park along there can cause additional congestion. Also, this year in the afternoon, at the Corner of Adair and Calhoun, it will be a right turn only option when turning from Adair on to Calhoun. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation with these new changes which are being done to keep all students safe and help traffic to flow.
